Kamal Kannan is running a public experiment: can one person with AI do the work of ten?

Every few months someone writes a thinkpiece asking whether AI will let a single founder run what used to take a team of ten. Kamal Kannan skipped the thinkpiece and became the experiment. Sanklad Digital, his London studio founded in 2023, is one person, no investors, and a straight-faced portfolio of six production products. Not landing pages. Products, with customers, in categories that normally demand a headcount.

The lineup reads like a small venture fund's portfolio: delegated.to, an AI team for business operations. WritePanda for AI video editing. PandaScribe for offline voice-to-text. MyAgentMail, email infrastructure for AI agents. Partli for referral programs. Outrly for LinkedIn outreach. A normal solo founder maintains one of these and develops a stress condition. Kamal runs the set.

The agency that funds the laboratory

The clever part is the business model holding it up. Zero-code.club, his agency arm, builds AI-powered apps for founders who want to ship fast. It generates the revenue, which means the product studio never has to beg, and it doubles as a test kitchen: every method proven on client work graduates into how the in-house products get built. The clients are, in effect, funding his R&D and getting the R&D applied to them. Everybody eats.

This is an old playbook, the consultancy that incubates products, 37signals ran it before Basecamp. The new variable is leverage. What made that model slow was labor; AI collapses the labor. Kamal's bet is that the collapse is bigger than anyone is pricing in, and he is stress-testing it in public, product by product.

Will all six survive? Almost certainly not, and that is fine. The portfolio is the point. When your marginal cost of trying is this low, the rational move is more shots on goal, not fewer.

Watch this space, literally

What we like about Kamal is the framing: Sanklad calls itself a solo founder experiment right on the homepage. No empire cosplay, no 'we' hiding one person, just a hypothesis being run at full speed with real money on the line.

If the experiment works, it is a preview of what thousands of technical founders do next. If it fails, the postmortem will be just as instructive. Either way, one person in London is generating the data. Worth watching.
