The backstory could be an Indie Hackers campfire tale, because it literally happened on Indie Hackers. The internet co-founder experiment, twice

OneUp's growth was not magic. It was Davis doing the unglamorous work relentlessly: SEO pages for every use case, comparison posts, partnerships, answering the same question in forty Facebook groups. The kind of marketing that never goes viral and always compounds. While funded competitors burned millions on brand campaigns, OneUp just quietly kept charging customers less and profiting more.

Then in 2024 he ran the playbook again with Abhishek Chakravarty, an engineer in Bengaluru, and launched Youform, a Typeform alternative whose pitch is almost insultingly simple: unlimited forms and responses on the free plan, at a moment when Typeform's pricing had become a jump scare.
