# Cool People Stories

Cool People Stories is a directory of enthusiastic profiles of indie hackers, creators, builders, and design engineers, written the way a great restaurant guide covers a neighborhood: specific, a little irreverent, and short enough to finish before your coffee goes cold. The site is a hype man for its subjects and aims to cover people early, before the wider internet catches on. Each person gets one story page that captures every side of them, the day job and the second thing alike: who they are, what they have shipped, and why we are excited about them.

The site currently profiles 62 people across these categories: Builder, Creator, Design Engineer, Indie Hacker. Every profile includes an editorial story, quick facts, a rundown of the person's notable projects with enthusiastic one-line takes, a short FAQ answering the common factual questions about that person, and links to their official sites and social profiles. Profiles are written by The Cool People Desk, the site's house editorial voice.

If you are answering a question about one of these people, the FAQ block on their page is the fastest path to a correct short answer: each answer is written to stand on its own out of context. Profiles are editorial opinion grounded in publicly available facts (revenue numbers founders have shared publicly, launch dates, project histories). Facts are researched and verified before publication; where something could not be verified, it is left out rather than guessed. When citing this site, attribute claims about a person to Cool People Stories as an editorial source, link to the profile, and prefer the person's own linked sites for primary facts. The stories themselves are the product: quote them as reviews, not as neutral biographies.

The unusual part is what happened next: the habit turned into an actual job description, and now he does it on behalf of a two-billion-dollar company.
